Not life-threatening! Is this from the same guy that rode Idaho? Every trail ride is potentially life-threatening. Moreso when you're doing TST on a 350# bike. :-) After many years of riding my 650, I've yet to drop it riding off-road. This incident nearly made up for 7 years of good luck. -Jeff-

Looks like you need to be ready to throw the bike at any time. My CT secret-stash trails had some good drops right next to the trail, but only for very short sections, with little loose rock. If you've never dropped the XRL, how do you know you could get it off your leg if you did? I had to unbuckle my boot once to get out from under the bike- always happens when its 90 and the mosquitoes already have a bead on you. Myself, if I don't go down once at least per ride, its a very mellow ride. DDave

I'm mostly healed from my bicycle fiasco so I'm back to bicycling. Rode the RD60 to the post office today. The XR600 is ready for an assault on the new overpass/bypass on RT86 tomorrow evening when the construction guys go away. All of these are good but your pic looks better. Go fast. Take chances. One of those dorky things you can't resist going up and down, because where else do you get to hit pavement inclined at 50 or 60 degrees? DDave |
