From: Mike on 1 Jun 2010 17:24 Shirley, a round for the house... Trying to save a little coin by doing some work myself. I'm changing the fork oil on my Wide Glide and the manual says the fluid capacity is 12 oz. Is that 12 oz per tube or for both? 'Cause if it's for both, it sure as hell doesn't seem like enough. How far to the top should the oil fill on each tube? Thanks for any help. Mike

If you want to stiffin it up a bit, put in the SE performance heavy fork oil or equivalent. > How far to the top should the oil fill on each tube? > > Thanks for any help. > > Mike >

I trusted the book and didn't measure what came out. I've been trying to look it up but everyplace I find says to use the "Required Amount". That doesn't tell me anything.. Maybe I'll just call the local HD service dept and ask them.. Thanks.
From: Mike on 1 Jun 2010 18:49 For anyone needing this info.. 2003 FXDWG fork oil amount: It's 12 oz per side. 24 oz total. Now let me write that down in the service manual for next time..

Fuckers should make a 24 oz bottle. -- Steve Paul EKIII, BS284 '93 Lowrider Sport Convertible |
