The ones I sent back were the original G3s, never really got more than kinda
uncold. Certainly didn't get what you'd call hot. Tina told me they had a
fix so I sent 'em in. In the interim the Microwire exchange for the liner I
got in August arrived. WOW! Hot before you're even done turning up the wick.
I didn't even wait for the other G3s to come back I just bought a new pair
of the Microwire G3s.

Depending on what you're looking for and size you may have problems finding
it. Like in August, Gerbings didn't have squat in my size. I started
checking dealers and none of them had what I was looking for either. I was
told by numerous folks that if you want something from Gerbings to use in
the winter you probably ought to look for it in June or July. Go figure. I
found a place online on the other side of Cleveland that had ONE pair of
medium Microwire G3s in stock. Ordered 'em online in the morning, they
shipped that day and that crappy USPS Priority Mail got them here the next
day.

I hated the original big clunkers. I had to send mine in to get a wire
rerouted that dug into a knuckle and they came back better but still no
cigar. I didn't wear 'em unless it was bitter cold because they made it
tough to use the hand levers. The G3s are nicely flexible and behind the
batwing I've never had 'em soak through in the rain despite never having
been treated. Len's got T5s and could give you the skinny on them. I didn't
even know about the Nubucks, if I did I may have gotten them. They appear to
be like G3s but probably softer and even more flexible. With the softer
leather I'd expect you'd want to coat 'em with Nikwax as I'd expect they
might soak through in the rain.

YMMV... 112

Don't let that out. It's Illegal for a postal employee to accept any gifts.
Not even a glass of water.

I'm envious. I'm still using the Widder's my buddy sold me when he got
his Gerbings a few years back. Reason was, he outgrew the vest, and
sold me the gloves, too. They pretty much suck. I can't hardly wear
the vest with the gloves, because my core gets too warm and my hands
are still cold. So, I usually just plug the gloves in and wear an
extra fleece liner. But even still, my hands are just un-cold-hardly
what I'd call warm.

But they look like King Kong-sized gloves. I can still work the
controls, but just barely.

That's what I always thought. Asked my Postmaster about that around
Christmas and was told they can accept stuff with a value not to exceed $20.
Is there a Christmas exception?
