Camchain tensioner bolt on the front of the block is the first thing to
have a look at.

If it's there at all.....

You mentioned a Cibie headlamp kit. Take a close look at the wiring, the
black one has a Cibie and the bunch of wiring and connectors that should
be inside the headlamp shell will not fit so there is a nasty taped up
kludge hidden behind the headlamp.
Its a lovely looking bike but putting that mess back to standard is going
to need a replacement loom.

It shouldn't. Cibie lights were a very standard bolt-on improvment,
though ISTR they needed a relay or resistor or something as well.
