From: jlittler on 13 Mar 2007 00:37 IIRC... If it doesn't have the 5 ticks logo then the manufacturer hasn't been certified by standards Australia and is displaying a sticker claiming compliance. I believe this is legal but there's big fines if they don't prove to actually be compliant. Check the ACCC website which had a case on it (spotted when I googled up the other one for you) and the standards aust website (which contrary to nev's post below doesn't actually have the standard itself I'm afraid. Also check "positioned for safety" on the MCC of NSW website which had some comments about how it was now legal to import non compliant helmets, just not legal to wear them. Surely when Mr Plod stops you for a random helmet check your helmet will be either certified as compliant or non-compliant... how can there be a "might be compliant" category? Nev.. '04 CBR1100XX
