I've had a bunch 'o' boots in my time, too. I loved my 10" pair of Red Wing's, but somehow my feet grew a size and I had to give 'em away. Recently I went to Chuck's Boots here in town, and they had a pair of Wolverine's that caught my fancy, so I bought those. Supposed to be waterproof, thinsulate, goretex, yada yada. That is how I found the black leather walking "service" shoe I wear. They have air cushion soles and my dainty feets love them. Lots of the new military/police boots I have tried to get on my feet are sewn too far up the tongue and I can't get my high instep into them. I guess it's a result of companies trying to make them water-proof to a higher level. Have you had any trouble keeping them tight when using the zipper? danl > >> >> Used to wear boots like that when I was in the military, called them jungle >> boots back then.
