After visiting several motorcycle shops in the area, it appears that
everyone I have spoken with is familiar with Abe from ABE Cycles.
Numerous stories and rumors about his bizarre behavior and allegations
that he has killed people would make anyone wonder why a sane person
would go to ABE Cycles in San Antonio. I had gone to Abe Cycles for
repairs when I had first arrived in San Antonio and received nothing
but trouble. After some severe problems and a much lighter wallet, I
did some checking and heard some pretty scary stories. My advice is to
not endanger your life by confronting Abe about his bizarre behavior
and shoddy service. Public records indicate that Abe was convicted of
two counts of murder in the 70's. I believe he actually killed 3
people, but one murder appears to have been overturned by the courts. I
keep referring to him as "Abe" which seems to be a bit awkward when
according to public record his given name appears to be Michael Joseph
Paprskar Jr. Public record reveals a few other names as well, to
include EDMUNSON,MIKE; EDMUNSON,MIKE JOSEPH; FORTUNE,ABRAHAM;
PAPASKAR,MIKE; PAPASKAR,MIKE J; PAPRISKAR,MICHAEL JOSEPH;
PAPRSKAR,MICHAEL; PAPRSKAR,MICHAEL JOSEPH; PAPRSKAR,MICHAEL;
PAPRSKAR,MIKE; PAPSKAR,M J. Wow! That's a lot of names for one person!

Public records indicate the above named individual has an extensive
criminal record in Texas, to include MURDER WITH MALICE (2 Counts),
BREAK AND ENTER COIN OPER MACHINES, LARCENY x 2, NARCOTIC
EQUIP-POSSESS, RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY, CONCEALING STOLEN PROPERTY,
SMUGGLING -CUSTOMS ACT, POSSESSION OF HEROIN UNDER 28 GRAMS.

This is all public record. What is not public record are the numerous
other "occurrences" that have gone unreported. There are too many
people saying the same thing about bizarre behavior, shady dealings,
and danger associated with this particular bike shop. None of this I
knew prior to my dealing with ABE Cycle Sales. If I knew then what I
know now, I would have taken my business elsewhere and avoided all the
drama. I am simply summarizing this to let the public know to please be
careful with whom you do business. As important as it is to confront
businesses about dissatisfactory business practices, it is not worth
risking your life over. Please be careful and do yourself a favor and
avoid Abe Cycle Sales; 3011 E. Commerce street, San Antonio.

I have lived all my life in san antonio and have never heard of Abe Cycles.
Not to dispute your claim, you could very well be correct. I have both BMW
and Yamaha and when I go to a non-dealer, I look around and see what their
work load looks like and if the mechanic has any type of training llike the
MMI and other schools. YMMV of course. I noticed you are posting from
california, you move there recently? This is a Bandido territory. I'me
sure if you check around you will probably find some HA working over there
with the same or worse record.

You've probably seen or heard of him at some time or another. His shop
is probably the one you drove by at some point in time and decided to
keep driving by. If you do a search, you will find more than a couple
messages from others saying the same stuff, more or less. I've been
living in San Antonio for a few months now and have found some trust
worthy shops. Other places I've been, I've encountered poor service
before, but Abe Cycles is the shadiest bike shop that I have
experienced. Fortunately, there are a lot of good shops out there as
well.

Is this shop like an old salvage yard? Sounds like a shop I went to
when I first got my current bike. Had some new parts, but had lots of
used parts as well. Had an old skinny lady working there as well.

That's the place.
