I hate to say it, but hitting a _stopped_ car is not a "cager F.U.", it's a rider F.U.

So... a motorcycle collides with a stationary object. To wit, a car. Without knowing more details about this tragedy I can't help wondering if the rider was paying due care and attention. To economize on processing, our minds tend to make assumptions about the things we see. Most likely the bike operator saw the car and assumed it was moving. After all, cars do tend to move. Especially on highways. However it's hard to believe that Quebec (or any other provincial law) prohibits a driver from stopping to avoid colliding with wildlife. SQ

Obviously, the 59 year old father was defective.

In this case the article states: Quebec law prohibits stopping a vehicle on a highway. I can understand that she didn't want to hit the birds, she should have pulled over rather than stopping in the middle of the road. This is not to say that the rider was presented with an impossible to avoid situation but it was the cager's action that created the dangerous situation. Ben |
