If there are no other clubs to fight they kill their own bros.

"They were at the very bottom rung of biker gangs. Some were in their
40s but still lived with their parents. They were not making any money,
many of them had been rejected by the Hells Angels and half of them
didn't even own a motorbike," he said.

Mr Edwards says they were forced to dump the cars with the bodies in
because they were "too cheap to buy enough gasoline".

"They didn't even set fire to the bodies or the cars," he says.

All six men were jailed to life, which means they will not be eligible
for parole for at least 25 years.

When is twenty-five years not twenty-five years?

When it is a prison term imposed in Canada.

Given these guys were convicted of multiple murders they have fewer
outs, but they still have a couple of "get out of jail free" cards to
play. First there is the standard two for one credit for time served
waiting for trial. That is sometimes extended to three times. I don't
know what was granted in this case.

Then we have the faint hope clause. This one means prisoners in Canada
sentenced to longer than 15 years without parole can apply for parole
after 15 years. Now this one may not apply to those convicted of
multiple murders, but I know of a few multiple murderers, Clifford
Olson comes to mind, who are able to make application for early
release.

I know it is dumb, stupid and doesn't make any sense, but it is Canada
and when it comes to criminal law, little of it does make sense.

Now the current conservative government is trying to have the faint
hope clause repealed. I think a bill was introduced to the House
earlier this year, but I don't think it has been passed. If it hasn't
these murders, after serving fifteen years, after the two for one or
three for one adjustment, may be able to apply to the Chief Justice
for relief under the faint hope clause.

So if they were in jail for a year and half waiting for trial and they
got three for one credit, after the faint hope clause kicks in, they
could be eligible for parole after ten and a half years.

And if all that fails they could file a Charter challenge for almost
any stupid reason and given the goofy decisions related to Charter
challenges almost anything is possible.

Since this is a murder conviction mandatory release will not apply but
for other crimes we have to release criminals into the community after
they serve two thirds of their sentence, after all of the above
adjustments, regardless of their history of prison activities.

I may be a cynic, but I doubt these guys will still be in prison in
twenty-five years. Not in Canada.

Let's see if we can coax Joe Arpaio to move up here and become our
Justice Minister.

Discovered this myself when busting the Nigerian scam gangs in Canada a
while back.

Toronto, and to a lesser extent Montreal, are infested with the
bastards. Up there with London, Amsterdam and the southern coast of
Spain. Half of them seem to be passing themselves off as students.

The authorities simply don't care. You could report 'em, hand over a
massive amount of data, email addies, bank details, the lot, and they'd
ignore it.

The Dutch and the Brits take a slightly more robust view.

Maybe. If you believe Al Gore and our current government, your climate will
be like Arizona in a few months ... unless we give India, et al, a few
$trillion. That'll stop global warming.
