From: don (Calgary) on 29 Mar 2010 19:15 Are the Coyotes going back to Winnipeg? So say the most recent rumours. For those who follow hockey and the NHL, specifically Mr Mann from Winnipeg, what do you make of the possibility of the Jets going home? Apparently as of June 30th the franchise is movable and short of a new owner assuming the punitive Glendale lease the big money appears to be in Winnipeg. The NHL is into the Coyotes for $140 mil or more and no one is willing to pay that to leave them in Phoenix. Can an NHL franchise survive in a small Canadian market? The rink holds 15,000 +/- which is small by tokays standards. Are the market conditions that much different from when the Jets left town? The Coyotes are a good young hockey team and will be competitive from the first drop of the puck. That will help. We all like a winner. For an old rink rat this is interesting stuff. It would be great to have the Jets back and Teamue Selanne is still playing and likely available.! For the rest of you, well I am surprised you even read this far. <g>

I never understood hockey in Phoenix (or anywhere south of New York City [1]). But damn their jerseys are cool. [1] The Carolina Hurricanes used to be in the old AHL Hartford Whalers. Still makes no sense.

The Blues have been S. of NYC for a heck of a long time (since the 67 expansion.) I am hoping the Sabres clinch their div tonight, it is looking good right now. -- Andrew 00 Daytona 00 Speed Triple 05 Squiddo
