Given the stories in MCN about DVLA missing the Motorbike entry on Driving
Licenses
and that they are not accepting photocopies as proof.
Is there any mileage in taking mine to a Police Station for some form of
confirmation
before I send it off for its 10 year photograph renewal?

I replaced mine two months ago and wrote on the form what entitlements I
had as well as including the photo part.

All came back as it was.

"Lose" it. You might be able to find it again, to use as evidence, if
there are any anomalies in the new licence.

I've been pondering this and it seems keeping the old one and ordering
a replacement costs 20, and getting a new one whilst sending the old
one back also costs 20.. so maybe best just not to send the old one
back with your update request.
