From: SkiFastBadly on 15 Mar 2007 16:35 This will be my fourth summer riding. I've put about 20K on my Harley. I took the MSF class and MSF experienced rider class, and both of them were excellent for learning basic strategy and skills. However, since they're taught in HS parking lots, they're not exactly the place to learn to ride at speed. While I feel competent at making corners (I'm not dead yet), I feel that there must be a way to learn proper technique at speed. I know that some local tracks offer bike track days, but the visual of me on a HD Heritage Softail at a track day seems..ummm....odd. I'm curious as to what anyone might have done to improve their skills at speed. Thanks

That cruiser is no race bike. I can't put speed and cruiser in the same sentence. Woops. > Thanks >

Ride the FDR drive from the Triboro Bridge to South St? ;) Seriously, perhaps a racing course (like the Skip Barber school, but for bikes) would be in order?

I enjoyed it 18 years ago, once he stopped talking about L Ron Hubbard. John

Not that there's anything wrong with that. It's perfect for cruising. |
