Apart from Christmas spirit, apparently the fact that the Marine Corps
conducts this toy drive in partnership with the Salvation Army.

And good for both of 'em.

Bein' a retired Marine I am fully aware of the program and have
participated in it. This is the first time I've seen TOT toys given to
the Salvation Army. I was surprised even to learn of the collaboration
between the Marine Corps Reserve and the Salvation Army.

As for my Christmas spirit, that died a long time ago. I'll keep my
reasons private to try to head off the usual divergences.

I'm surprised that you hadn't been aware of it, but nobody can be
expected to know all the details about everything.
