If you know the rules, you can abide by them. Speaking (whatever) personally, I can rely on the Disco knowing its own way home, but I wouldn't go within several yards of the bike if I'd had a drink. OTOH, when I lived in London and cycled everywhere, I figured you only had to get on a (push)bike after an evening in the pub to become suddenly completely sober.
