I'd planned on going riding last weekend. Stuff came up and I couldn't
make it. I planned on going today but ended up spending a good portion
of the day in the ER with my wife (she's OK), so that didn't happen.
Rescheduled for tomorrow, and went down to the garage to get things in
order.

And dropped a metal loading ramp on my sandal-clad foot. Looks like
riding may be out tomorrow too.

Proof that I'm still an Idiot.

each time i idiot proof something
they build a better idiot...
usually i test run my own machines harder
than the folks at work.. but occasionally they rise to
the challenge and surprise me with some
unforeseen option. then again i did jump off
the roof with a bed sheet parachute as a kid

I must be your twin idiot. Was unloading railroad ties and tripped
backwards. Tie landed on leg between ankle and knee. Crushed down to the
bone. Damn that hurt. Took long time to heal and get nerves to return. WW

Not much to see, just some plain old bruising. It hurt like heck last
night, but was good enough to ride today. Dodged a bullet, I think.

As I was getting ready to load up, my wife expressed interest in
coming along. Only she didn't feel like riding, just wanted to go for
a ride on the back, like the "good old days." So the XR went back in
the garage and out came her XT225. We drove 1.5 hours or so up to
Wharton State Forest in NJ and had a fine time bottoming the
suspension on some of south Jersey's finest unimproved roads.
Conditions were perfect. It had rained overnight and earlier today,
and was just letting up as we geared up. No dust, little sugar sand
(south Jersey is all sand) and no hot sun. Really couldn't have asked
for better conditions for the task at hand. Not the ride I had
planned, but it ended up being great fun.
