My usual reliable sources (ie, hysterical, alarmist blogs) predict
that the Hindu Age of Kali Yuga ends on the Winter Solstice, 2012.

Well it's a long way from India to Mexico where the Mayans
also predicted some kind of Big Deal on the same date.

Mere coincidence...? Or did these ancients know something we don't.

In fact some sites say the Mayan calendar ends on this date.
It doesn't merely roll over, it *ENDS*. Finito. Full stop.
"But what happens after that?" Answer: there IS no "after that".
Something like Dr. Who's End of Time Cafe.

Hey, I don't understand it myself. But I just have one question:
what happens if I happen to be riding my bike at midnight,
12/21/2012 Greenwich Mean Time?

funny think is that they all call it the END of a cycle and the
beginning of a new cycle just like the old. Nothing goes boom, nothing
dies in unusal numbers...the calender just rolls over, gotta love
those perpetual calenders...

Wishful thinking. The blogsters in the know say there's a cosmic
egg timer ticking down and when it goes Ding two solstices
from now the whole shindig's gonna be over, so enjoy your ride
while it lasts.
