The other thing the nice people at RW provide that rates pretty high on
the "satisfying" meter are these:

Granted, you don't get quite the same immediate gratification that
comes from a few seconds on the horn, possibly followed by the
Official Highway Salute, but I don't go anywhere these days without
a couple of those little yellow magnets tucked away somewhere
within easy reach...

well generall speaking it should be mounted in front of the
rider...they are called pommel holsters. 8^) I'd recommend something
that can appropriately called a "Horse Pistol" BFR makes a nice one
that comes in all sorts of LARGE calibers and can be chamebered to
suit.

personally for use whilst riding I would recommend the 45/70
government chambering for it's penetration and recoil properties. 8^)
Naturally you will either have to learn to shoot left handed (if you
aren't left handed) OR buy a Indian Big chief (a 39' would do nicely I
think) as you don't want to take your hand off the throttle.

Yes, but - satisfying though the boot print method might be, I tend
to dislike those which promote the "goddamn jerks on motorcycles!
Ought to ban them all!" attitude amongst the cagers. Which is not to
say that that isn't the correct response at times. Just like to have all
my options available.

So far I've had success with a combination of old age, treachery,
stealth, and creative profanity.
