No. There's an R32 Golf, which is presumably what you're thinking of, and an R50 (V10 diesel) version of the Toerag. So far these are the only uses they've made of the Rnn naming convention.

Yupp. And mostly they pre-dated the actual R36 announcements, so were basically just speculation. Others were assuming that the R36 being talked about back then was a golf, whereas it turned out to be the Passat, and others are about 'specials', marrying the new motor into the existing golf chassis. |
