I'd say you'd be OK mixed as its not uncommon to run different tyres front and rear on a s'moto.

I don't normally get precious about mixing tyres but they'd be a completely different type of tyre with one resembling a race inter and the other a sticky road tyre. My only worry would be if it pissed with rain and the front went for a walk before the back was ready to accompany it iyswim.

At �60 a pop, I'd be inclined to swap both out and use the spare front for emergencies.

Amongst other things they had a projected life of 13k(kms) Test headings included: Wet/Dry handling(also in curves) Steering precision Handling in Curves Stability(touring, sport and with pillion) Self righting tendency on braking etc etc Test was done at Goodyear test track at Merival(Fr) on representative R1200GS, then driven Stuttgart to Sicily.
