Turning Back Odometers
After viewing some used motorcycles at a local dealership recently, I got to wondering if turning back odometers on bikes is common. Anyone out there who might've worked at a dealership know how common this is, if at all? ... 21 Jul 2010 23:32
9-11 was an inside job.
on the wayside, your fruitless ridicule is going away from my lightening fast fingers, because you box the included newsgroups with hate-spewtum. this is more than enough of a time-waster, as it is, thank *you*. Your masters are counting on you that way. thus&so: _61_ _view profile_ -- and I'm out o'he... 1 Aug 2010 15:58
How to save Harley Davidison
The site recently mentioned by S'mee [in "Proper oil for cruisers"] contains links to a series of articles on How To Save Harley Davidson, starting with this one: http://www.asphaltandrubber.com/oped/save-harley-davidson-part-1-branding/ I wasn't aware that HD needed saving. But if they do then I have an idea ... 19 Jul 2010 16:56

It's confirmed
Stoner is going to Honda. http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/sport/sportresults/MotoGP/2010/July/jul0910-Honda-confirm-Casey-Stoner-signing/ Hmmm, mo' money or tired that he couldn't connect with the Duc anymore? ... 12 Jul 2010 09:39
Gonna be busy this weekend
Got a paper to finish, so I'll get this out of the way: I know synthetic oil is too slippery for Harleys (it makes the bearings slide instead of roll) - does the same apply to an air- cooled, belt-driven metric cruiser like a Suzuki (LS650/S40) Savage? Where's the best place to mount deer whistles on a Honda NT... 12 Jul 2010 09:39
Gyroscopic effects
S'mee brought this up in another topic, but since it's likely to get buried there I thought it deserved a thread of its own. Of course as a spinning object a motorcycle wheel is subject to gyroscopic effects. The question is, how much, and are they significant? I can think of two gyro effects to consider: ... 14 Jul 2010 08:49

A warm summer evening
....after a hot summer's day. The windshield on my S40 needed adjusting, so when that was done I sat in the saddle to see how it looked... suddenly just then the bike seemed to exert some kind of invisible, irresistible force which drew my hand to turn the ignition key and press the starter button... of course it ... 8 Jul 2010 10:19
On-line pdf Bonneville shop manual
I don't know why I didn't think of this long ago... ie download a free, on-line shop manual for my Convert-a-Thruxton-into-a-Pseudo-Bonneville project: I suppose it's available from other sites but this is the first one Google found: http://pdfservicemanual.com/ebook/triumph-bonneville-t100-2010 SQ ... 7 Jul 2010 20:09
