Ok, so I went out and bought a used Yamaha fz6 from a dealership for
supposed peace of mind. Maybe a mistake, who knows. I've been riding
it for about 5 days now and just today i noticed a couple of rubber
tubes hanging pretty much under the middle of the bike by a couple
inches.
This may be a stupid question, but I'm not sure if this is right. Is
it something I should be concerned about? The dealer supposedly
thoroughly inspects the bikes. Anyways, I am worried and I will post
pictures if no one can tell me anything about these strange rubber
tubes.
I appreciate the help and by the way, I love riding!

Well, they're probably actually neoprene, rather than the
less durable rubber. If my suspicion is correct, the tubes
are used for the following, that I can recall.

.. One is used to vent the battery.
.. One is used to vent the crankcase, and will usually need
draining of a blow-by liquid at the oil change interval.
.. One could be a tank vent, but unlikely.

There could be others, and/or my explanations could be
wrong. However, here's one discussion reference:

They'll be breather tubes or carb overflow pipes (if we're talking FZ600
here and not the new FI Fazer - you do not make it clear) or crankcase
breather pipes or airbox overflow pipes.

No.

Except if one is the battery vent tube and it is touching the frame that
is a bad idea if acid vents there. It should hang low enough to be clear
of the metal.

True - except battery breather tubes are plastic and clear and not
rubber ;-)
