AFAIK all the 5-speeders are pretty similar.

The Quota's still in one piece - it's the V11 that's in bits.

I'm pretty sure it's not a bearing - just the gear itself. It's only
that gear and it's also very high pitched. I will probably do an early
oil change though, just to check for debris.

I'm actually considering just outing the bike, TBH. While I enjoy
doing my own maintenance, I seem to have spent half of Summer fixing
or servicing bikes and I've come to the conclusion that four is just
too many. It's just unfortunate that I probably won't get much for it,
especially as I've just replaced the brake pads all round and the rear
brake master cylinder.

I even considered outing the YZ and another road bike, and buying a
decent enduro instead, but I just love that two-stroke buzz. Besides,
the only other road bikes are the Aprilia, which, when I'm in the
mood, is an absolute hoot to ride, and the V11, which owes me big
time.

All things are relative.
