We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
drugs began to take hold. I remember R C Nesbit <spam(a)ukrm.net> saying
something like:

>Steve auvache spoke:

>Is what, exactly?

It's not what is, it's the effect it has.

I couldn't use them as main gloves as they are too warm for most summer
conditions. In the winter I use a pair of muffs so they would be too warm
again, plus their waterproofing is not needed.

That's not bubble & squeak.

It sort of feels wrong to me to be in a food thread, but this I know
about. I can remember both my grandmothers cooking bubble and squeak,
and it was then, and has remained since, left over potatoes and green
vegetables (typically cabbage) mashed up and fried. No gravy, no
gloop.

*ding* although any leftover veg, not just greens, so inc. carrots,
parsnips etc., might make their way into any B&S I cook.

chopped not mashed - I hate b&s that has been pured before frying. Needs a
bit of texture IMV.
