By the time you are done with that frame, I am thinking you're gonna
have more than four grand invested. You will have comfort in knowing
you built it, but it will be at a cost.

Make a list of all the parts you need aside from the engine and
tranny. From what I recall in your original post the list will be
extensive. Then put some realistic prices to the bits and pieces.
Unless you find everything on Ebay that stuff is going to be expensive
to pick up from the dealer.

You might find you are better off buying something like that America.

Thing is, I'm hoping to find a complete (but bent) donor bike.
Of course I'll have to scrounge replacements for the bent parts,
but I don't know what they'll be yet.

ps. I just took the Dnepr to A&W. Now I'm wearing big goofy grin
(more for the bike ride than the burger). Here's a German sidecar
looking strangely like mine...

IMO the wheel/tyre/riding position choice plays a significant part in
the Scrambler's oddness.
