I miss the old days, ya know when I was "Uncle David" to Scott, now
that he's a hot shot Racer Dude, I'm just another old fart to get
around or worry about behind him...

I haven't been riding much of late either, been camping the last two
weekends in dirt bike heaven and only have about 100 miles to show for
it.

I'll be back up there two weeks from today, can't wait!!!

I think we should have a "slow race" this year: 100' course, trials
type riding, no dabs, can't turn more than 90* in either direction off
centerline, last one to the finish line wins.

I like it. Bring back the memories of past spodedebacles.
Trials ride over the big log in the middle of camp.....
Wheelie contest to see who can break a $100 set of handle bars...
Poker run through Kelly cr. and back...etc..etc....

BTW. This has been on my mind. ?How are the mosquitoes this year?
Do I need the 100% DEET or will the 40% work?
I remember Charles daughter having a real problem with them in '06.

I've already started preparing by rising my tolerance towards alcoholic
beverages but failed miserably yesterday after the first "Ma" (1 liter)
of beer and fell asleep. But there's still time for more practise...

Regarding crashes I was able to gain profoud experience last week:

Took a steep kicker-table in 3rd instead of 2nd (must have been a temporary
blackout or shomething) and crashed into the face of the next jump. I
heroically managed to cushion the impact of the bike with my body so there
was just a triple clamp to be straightened and a right grip to be glued
with instant glue. Those ulcerating rashes will go away for free and my
bruises have already become yellow.

Helmet unscratched thanks to my pulled neck muscles. More exercise this
week-end.

Cheers,
Volker,
14 days and counting...

Hehe,, same here. Buddy of mine wrote a "just one more time" mail about
doing some riding. Other buddy said yeah let's do it. Never heard
of'em since. Hence I'll try to stirr them up so I get at least minimum
dirt riding time before falling off of ID's hills..

I'll ride like I ski nowadays: Shoot down Really Fast, throwing powder
like a freight train and 20 seconds later take a nice 10 second break,
then repeat. Ugly part with skiing that way is my "slow" wife is
passing me on a 5 mile slope.
