From: Wicked Uncle Nigel on 12 Mar 2010 20:08 I am about to venture into the guts of the GTR for a 12,000 mile service. I have just downloaded[1] the workshop manual for the beast. 807 pages. 'Kinell. [1] Isn't t'Interweb thingy a marvellous resource? -- Wicked Uncle Nigel - "He's hopeless, but he's honest" I've always been a man who's open to persuasion

I much prefer to have the printed (and paid for, TYVM) manual on hand during the work. Electronic are fine for looking things up, but next to useless when you're actually working. I have heard some scare stories about how awful that bike is for difficulty of access during the valve lash check. One of the nice things about the FJR is the 26k mile interval between valve lash checks, and it's not terribly difficult to get the cam cover off.

The GTR has a 26,000 mile valve service interval too. I'll probably just chuck it at the dealer when the time comes. -- Wicked Uncle Nigel - "He's hopeless, but he's honest" I've always been a man who's open to persuasion

I wouldn't think there would be much other than an oil change, check/clean the air filter, check some fasteners, lube a few things, and maybe change the final drive oil.

Probably a few things like checking throttle position sensor? -- BMW K1100LT Ducati 750SS Honda CB400F Triumph Street Triple Suzuki TS250ER GN250 Damn, back to six bikes!
