Big bunch of everyday people costumed up to look like their own idea of bikers who go to rub elbows with each other then go home and brag about partying with real bikers - not realising none were there. Ditto Daytona. C'mon down the first part of the week for lower prices and great vintage events, then head for the Keys and beaches and return for the races if you're into two-wheel NASCAR. The Bean Blossom (Indiana) Boogie and the Wetzel's party in Western Ohio used to be fun ....

You forgot all the drunken stupidity...and acting like everybody owes them something because they road their bike to sturgis, a whole 50 miles because that's where they parked the RV after driving in from Bangor.

The Bean Blossom > (Indiana) Boogie and the Wetzel's party in Western Ohio used to be fun > .... Interesting observation about the poser bikers. I haven't figured out what a real biker is. I did notice in the HD dealership that all of the photos they have up have a certain look, especially in the clothing. For the male stuff, it is the "I'm on parole, and I will kill you" look. That naturally attracts posers because the accountants who got beat up too much in high school will buy a Harley. Is a real biker a member of the Outlaws who is running drugs and getting in shootouts with other gangs? Or something else? What is a real biker? DF. |
