I'm in the halfway house. I think the Kat's stunning and I want
one.

............But I hate the front end - the guard and front wheel,
specifically. The rest of the bike is razor sharp, that guard never
looked right and the wheel's too big. So want one with UD forks,
monoshock rear end and better wheels and brakes.

Just pathetically underpowered, eh?

Looks like teethmarks to me.

I couldn't agree with you more.

Someone (Veggie will know who, since it was in Streetfighters, ages ago,
poss BigCC Racing) built a Spondon-like, big tube, monoshock frame for a
Katana. Which allowed both a monoshock rear, plus easy fitting of a
smaller wheel, UD fork, front.

That, plus a big-bore, turbo, 400 bhp Kat motor, plus the pop up
headlight front end from the 750 Kat, would have produced a bike that I
could have just sat on and fondled for all eternity.

<googles>

Ah. Turns out it was actually a Spondon frame. And it was BigCC.

Check this out (only one small pic, sadly):

Even the burd Streetfighters draped over it was gorgeous.

That's probably my ultimate bike.

Ah, at last, someone else who recognises the true hideousness of the
things. You don't also happen to think that the recent(ish) MV Agustas
are terribly overrated examples of terminal featurelessness as well,
do you?

This one's an overrated example of terminal featurelessness,
er, perhaps:
