Shocking
My CB900F is in need of new shocks. At least, that's what I take from the fact that they're both leaking oil everywhere (er...well, one of them stopped a while ago), and cornering is getting to be more of a thrill than I ever imagined. According to bikebandit.com, OEM parts will do me to the tune of around $950 ... 5 Mar 2010 12:53
How can I tell if my shock/springs are worn out?
The bike is an 82 Kawie KZ550 - C3, and I'm contemplating some suspension work. The obvious work would include the installation of new spring/shocks and rebuilding the forks. Before I begin I am wondering if the repairs are really needed at this time. Are there specific, objective tests of these components that... 4 Mar 2010 10:08
Inverted forks
Hey all. I have a '06 Hayabusa. It is my first bike with inverted forks. Was wondering if anyone could give me a rundown for checking and/or adding fluid to them. My Suzuki dealer has to order the manual, and it will take 7-10 working days, but thought I would ask here while I wait. Thanks for any help. JD ... 23 Feb 2010 02:31

'85 XL600R probs
The last time I worked on my 1985 XL600R was about 5 years ago - at that time it would start with a lot of effort, but wouldn't stay running reliably. Someone on this forum suggested going through the Clymer or Haynes manuals' trouble-shooting section, and I could have SWORN I did and that the last thing to check ... 16 Feb 2010 22:57
Garage Night video: Suspension overhaul starts with Dremel on a lathe
I have a bead breaker that I carry on road trips. It folds to about a foot long and maybe 2.5 inches in diameter and will break any motorcycle tire bead I've ever encountered. That and three levers is all I need to change most tires. Getting a tire off under most circumstances is about 3 minutes from the time I l... 15 Feb 2010 08:46

FOAK: Missing Ignition Key
I am now the proud owner of a Kawie KZ550M, a shaft drive '83 model. It's not running but I paid so little that I am not concerned if I can't get it going again. It does not have a key so I can't even raise the seat to install a new battery. Do the Kawasaki Dealers have access to codes to find a key for this ... 4 Feb 2010 22:33
Flummoxed by Suzuki GN250
Every now and again you come up against an odd one. A *really* odd one. After I'd bought the GN250, I gave it a full service which included setting the tappets, naturally, and I was getting a slight tick from the top end. It sounded exactly like a tappet that was fractionally too wide, though oddly the noise d... 25 Jan 2010 07:15
