From: Nate Bargmann on 12 Jun 2007 15:17 In this world of ours perception is reality. Right now the global warming debate has many reassessing their impact on this old world of ours. Slogans are an important part of all this and it got me to thinking yesterday. We motorcyclists need a slogan to show how eco- friendly we are. I submit the following: Quiet pipes save Mother Earth. Now, that may seem charmed, perhaps even quaint. But, how else can we get the eco-activists on our side and promoting motorcycles while still being able to use fossil fuels for our own gratification? Whatcha y'all think? - Nate >> -- "The optimist proclaims that we live in the best of all possible worlds, the pessimist fears this is true."

I suggest using the slogan, "Two Wheels Good, Four Wheels Bad." (Ich bin nicht deiner Fuhrer.)

Why not sent them a letter instead, or send letters to their magazines. Tell them that you agree with their aims of protecting and preserving the Earth's eco-system, and that you, too, are disturbed by motor vehicles with loud exhausts. Explain that as a responsible motorcyclist, you maintain your vehicle and make sure it meets federal emissions standards, and will do what you can to get local law-enforcement officials to enforce noise regulations against all vehicles that make too much noise. -- Timberwoof <me at timberwoof dot com> faq: http://www.timberwoof.com/motorcycle/faq.shtml It's easy to say a war is so important your neighbor should go fight it for you. |
