From: Hunter on 1 Jun 2010 16:32 Just picked up a Darmah and would like tire suggestions for road use. Pirelli used to be a hot brand. Is this still the case?

Is this still the case? What size tire? If it were me I'd go with the bridgestone BT45's. More likely to find them in a size to fit a 1978 Darmah than a Pirelli, but I haven't looked at Pirelli for tires in that size and I ride a motorcycle of that vintage.

Tire Sizes: Front: 100/90V 18 Rear: 120/90V 18 Thank you for the information. Before your reply, I installed Avon RoadRiders (per Bevel Heaven-Steve Allen's suggestion). So far, so good. I have heard good things about the Brigestone BT 45's and shall try them next time.

I need to put tyres on the Laverda soon (100/90 & 130/80 V18) and I've heard good things about the Pirelli Sport Demon so I'll probably try them as they're marginally cheaper than the BT45. Continental do the ContiGo in a similar range of sizes but the only bloke I know who's tried them so far has only had them fitted (to his BM) this week so no feedback yet -- Bob Scott
