Have I done something really numpty?
Rode the ZZR into work on Friday and back home no problem. When I went to give the eldest lad a spin on it 2 hours later the solenoid would chatter but the starter motor wouldn't spin. Tried it with jump leads off the car the next day and it started beautifully. Must be the battery I thought. Went to Frazers, g... 27 Apr 2010 22:29
Why is it?
When you need to do a pair of jobs, that one is piddlingly easy, and the other impossible. GL1500 fork seal. RHS, 37 minutes, fork back in lower yoke. LHS 3 hours and counting. The fork won't pull apart. All the bolts are out, as is the oil, and the spring. It's currently in a vice, with a ratchet stra... 16 May 2010 08:08
In praise of old tiddlers
I took the Street Triple to work today because, well, because the sun was shining and I fancied a blat. I'd wondered why people use big bikes to fight through the London traffic, and now I wonder more. Everywhere in second or third gear, less filtering (that's mainly the Trip's poor steering lock, actually), wor... 2 May 2010 15:25

XT660R
So for one reason and another I felt the need to have a newer, more reliable 'adventure style' bike. I'd had a good look over Andy's Tenere when trying to repair it and was quite impressed. The fault was so trivial to be blunt it didn't bother me. I sat on a couple of Teneres and whilst the price was fine, u... 24 Apr 2010 04:00
