Essential Motorway Gear
We were somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the drugs began to take hold. I remember "Hog" <sm911SPAM(a)CHIPShotmail.co.uk> saying something like: A short discussion ensued with the conclusion that said gate was too sturdy to be rammed at which point chappy in van joins the queue. Eureka, ... 24 Jun 2010 05:19
BMW - comfort costs extra
I had a go on an F650, found it uncomfortable and found it hard to believe that they sell a comfortable seat as an optional extra. Here's my email to them and their reply; My email to BMW; I had a test ride on the F650 GS and found the seat to be quite uncomfortable after 30 minutes. The very helpful s... 23 Jun 2010 14:01

Product Recommendation: Thompson's Drive Seal
I'm sure I'm not the only one on UKRM to suffer with incontinent vehicles, or the only one to have had little mishaps whilst servicing bikes / cars on their drive. My tarmac drive was looking pretty awful, with several oil stains on it - due to carelessness on my part and a leaking Sillyspeed actuator on K's Alf... 22 Jun 2010 09:25
FOAK: Books for (bright) 7-yr-old
Someone on here will know. A friend of mine is in the process of adopting two children, one of whom is seven and at the top of his class in reading. He loves to read but has come from foster-parents with no books at all. Said friend has given him Asterix the Gaul from his own childhood (which he loves) but he... 27 Jun 2010 13:58
One for the Canon SLR owners?
A while back I bought a Canon 100-300mm F4.5-5.6 USM from petrolcan including a polarising filter on it for a ton. I used for the TT and now it's time to sell it on, as I've decided I want to upgrade to a lens with image stabilisation instead. It's one of these, that normally go for a few hundred quid new. http:... 24 Jun 2010 07:29
Nearly nicked (OR: I like software developers...) - LONG
On 2010-06-18 17:40:39 +0200, "Cab" <me(a)privacy.net> said: The next thing I knew, was the copper saying words to the effect "Oh sod it, forget it this time, just don't do it again". Result! You double jammy fucker. -- Dnc ... 19 Jun 2010 09:08
M25 - Brighton
Monday marathon, Bradford to Brighton & back in the day :) R1 style... OK, whats the best way on the M25, around lunchtime, anticlockwise are the roadworks still there near M40 etc? Obviously, i'll be hitting the M25 at the M1 intersection... I like going the clockwise direction, that time of day cause any st... 19 Jun 2010 05:54
Mid-summer madness?
This Monday is 21st June, and therefore nominally the longest day of the year. Anyone up for a ride to the Black Horse for dinner in the evening? Some of us did it 3 or so years ago, and it was quite fun. According to http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/astronomy.html?n=1325 sunset won't be until 21:35, which... 26 Jun 2010 19:38
