Sure there's plenty of talented up-and-comers like Jonathon Thurston and Greg Inglis and plenty of almost were's like Sonny Bill Williams, Anthony Minicello and Hazem El Mazri and even a few bright sparks like Andrew Johns and Danny Buderous and but who else has achieved as much as Locky during his decade-plus career? Fark; he's practically carried the Maroon State-Of-Origin effort on his back for the last 10 years!! -- Clem (Or is this an "NRL isn't football" post?)

I'll put it down to the meds giving you maroon vision... Stats: (I won't bother with finals, because arguably that says more about the team, than individual brilliance, there being many players who have not played in finals who have represented Australia in the same year.) First grade games : AJ 249 (ret) DL 275 (still going) Points : AJ 2176 DL 1134 Origin AJ 23 games 96 points, DL 27 games 73 points Australia AJ 21 Games DL 36 games DL has certainly played more and has been more consistent at a very high level (both have suffered from injuries), but look at the scoring. Now, I'm not suggesting that Darren is not a brilliant player, and I think he is certainly one of the best of all time, but I think to call him 'The' best of all time sadly misses the value of that player in the team. Joey holds the NRL record for most points in career, most points in a season, most goals in a season, most field goals in a season, most tries in a match (shared), most goals in a match, most points in a match, plus club records of most appearances, most goals and most field goals. Both Joey and Darren are the only players to have won the golden boot more than once, (hopefully DL can do it again), but Joey alone has won the 'Dally M' 3 times. DL is the second highest kangaroos try scorer. So, while DL is a brilliant player, and certainly _one of_ the best, points per game nobody comes remotely close to Joey (AJ over 8 points per game and DL just over 4 lifetime average). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andrew_Johns http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Darren_Lockyer Enjoy.
