What's your point; that Johns likes to hog the ball and claim the glory
whereas Locky stays back and feeds his team-mates?
Just the fact that the totally NSW-centric NRL kept picking Locky over Johns
as Kangaroo Captain says enough.
Sure he's flashy and he's got a good boot but he's no-where near the
complete footballer that Locky is. (On or OFF the paddock!)

You are not alone in your minority opinion.

And Captain says little if anything about football skills, rather about
leadership skills. What does declining captaincy say?

[shrug] That you'd prefer individual over team achievement?
If NRL ever becomes a non-team sport maybe Johns will get a gong.....

ROFL.

_YOU_ made the claim that Lockyer was the greatest rugby league player of
all time. Now you want to change that to he is the best team player?

AJ has been continually referred to by many people in the footballing
fraternity as the best of all time, over the last 5 years. I continue to
support that view. His social problems do not downgrade his skills.

I am happy to give DL second, though I actually think Langer was more of a
game breaker than DL is.

[puzzled face] Well it is a team sport isn't it?
How can a player be great if he can't work-with/lift/inspire his team?!!?
Sure he can score some points but it's the team that wins or loses games.

Many people in YOUR circle apparently!

We almost match there 'cause I rate Langer as a far better half-back than
Johns too!
(I doubt he's got the same individual stats though!)
