Dismantled the cable, lubed it well and refitted, no better. The back wheel spins reasonably well in neutral but when I put it on the stand in gear and use the clutch the take up is very snatchy. No, I use Rock oil which is proper bike oil and have been using it since the bike was new. I'll investigate the plates this weekend. Geoff Lane
