Almost certainly, the same sort of thing has happened along the great
ocean road.

Unlike the great ocean road however the Yarra Ranges don't attract
hordes of beach goers so they'll notice the loss of day travellers more.

Good outcome from the gumbiment there...

D'oh, GeffyBabes, if you go back to his opening sentence and actually
READ IT, you'll see something AMAZING. ;-)

Maybe they have got themselves a DR and gone off road!
I was there last week and only saw one group of motorcycles (4) and another
group of 4WD's (4).

The first 4WD was comming towards me in the middle of the road sideways
while I was on a RH bend and there was no white lines about to save me.
I felt it comming all morning so all was good no thanks to the superhuman
skill P plater felt he could muster.

Afterwards I rode through the deepest river for me yet, had to get off and
pass the DR under a fallen tree and also surpassed the limits of the GPS.

The white lines don't bother me much but I don't feel I am a "weekend
warrior".

Have I mentioned how much I am enjoying the DR650?

Speed Limits are set to ensure the most money can be fleeced from the
motoring public under the pretence of road safety. When the road toll rises
fines and enforcement practices also increase. This has little effect on
the road toll but sets the precidence for a further increase when the toll
next rises, usually in the subsequent year or period eg. public holliday
period. Increases should be measured such that the public remain confident
in the safety hoax reasoning. Any measures that are proven to decrease the
road toll shiould be discredited as soon as possiable as this may lead to a
decrease in revenue collected.

If your house is broken into or you have a minor collision in a car park try
getting Police to investigate or even attend the scene. However do 5 Kms
over the posted limit and they're waiting, hidding in the bus shelter,
sitting for hours on end in parked unmarked cars, operating expensive camera
vans while being paid overtime rates. Our state Poilce forces have become
uniformed tax collectors with little time or resorces for traditional
Policing

There, I feel a little better now.
