anyone know of either a replacement tank you can see gas level or a
good way of tracking gas levels in stock tank? Having a tough time
enjoying trails worried about running out of gas.

One solution is to get an odometer, and use that as a rough gauge.
Figure about 25 miles to the gallon as a starting point, and then over
time you'll become a better judge of how close to empty you are.

You can use many bicycle-type "computers" or something like a

The easiest way to check your fuel level is to carry 2 foot long
piece of clear tubing that is the same size as your fuel line. Turn
off the petcock and remove the fuel line. Slide one end of your clear
tubing onto the barb fitting on the petcock and hold the other end
higher than the fuel cap. Turn on the petcock and that should show
you the level in the tank.

If you start with a full tank on a CRF230, you should be able to get
and easy 50 miles.

When you switch the petcock to "res", you will have about 2 liters of
gas in the tank, that might be enough for you to ride around 50
kilometers.

With a bike like the CRF230F, a full tank of gas is enough for an
entire riding day... Fill it up and don't worry...

Remember too that even when you first run out of fuel... you usually
aren't really out of fuel. There's usually some trapped fuel in the
right 1/2 of the tank that just can't get to the petcock.
