The same thing happened to the screen on my 2730. Shortly after the
screen bubbled off, the unit started to intermittently go into screen
calibration mode or show some obscure intersection that was unrelated
to the current route. It has become pretty much unusable.

So........ This evening there is a new, still in the box Zumo 660 on
my coffee table.

It's too bad the old one crapped out because it did everything and
more that I wanted from a GPS. The Zumo by comparison is missing a
couple of the features I liked.

On the plus side it has a larger, easier to read screen and has the
current mapping program. I will probably spring for the lifetime map
updates too. In Canada "lifetime" means "as long as you own the
current GPS". The lifetime updates are not transferable to a
different GPS. Maybe it is the same in the US.

I have to say, this is my third GPS and it is the first one I had to
spend so much money for. When I bought my first two I could get
refurbished models for a fraction of the new price. I couldn't find
bargains like that today.

Over the years the GPS has become an essential part of my riding
equipment.

??? In another thread I wrote that I just purchased on ebay a
refurbished TomTom Rider 2 for US$200. There are several listed
currently from that seller; item #170516410886 is one.

According to FedEx tracking it will arrive tomorrow. I will
post a review.

I saw that post and did try to look at a TomTom Rider. What I found
was they were discontinued three years ago and there wasn't even a
display model in Calgary to look at. Having always had Garmins I was
more comfortable with them. Better the devil you know.

By the time I got the $200.00 TomTom here I'd be into it for close to
$275.00 Canadian. Not knowing how up to date the maps would be I might
be looking at another hundred to update the maps, if they can be
updated. From there it is not a large leap to what I paid for the
Zumo. Well, ok it is a bit of a large leap. ;-)

I found a few Garmin 2610's on Ebay for a decent price but I would
have the same issue with updating maps and possibly the same issue
with the screen.

I am trying to justify my purchase, more for me than you. ;-)

Let us know how the TomTom works out. I just may be kicking myself for
not going a similar route.
