Looked at a 2nd hand bike. appears 2 have been left in the sun
every day. The faces of the gauges are all milky.
anyone had any experience with this ? Are they stuffed or can they
be fixed/improved ?

Yeah what 'e said - any decent instrument repairer can re-glass them,
if you're in Sydney rather than Brizvegas I can give you the name of a
guy who did good work for me on some Jag instruments a few years ago
(assuming he's still there was a good 6or 7 years)

I had gauges on one of my bikes which were almost white through no garage or
house door wide enough to have it under cover.
Didn't appear to affect the performance of the gauges
