In the Mk1 Octavia you can display the speed on the climate control unit.
I CBA to google the button presses now but there's a similar function on
most VAG cars

Bottom right of LHS screen has the speed displayed as a (digital)
number.

AKA the usual Clarksonian "I love it but lets lie and be silly".

I so, so, so, so, so love that car.

Want. Seriously want. Have wanted since I saw the first pic of it ages

Sounds unlikely to be coming from a GPS system, though, which is what
I was talking about.
