reed and I'm not sure about the exhaust ports.

It'd be nice I agree BUT I'd rather have the valve train from a 'zuki
T-500. ;^)

Disc valve, IIRC, and yes, it had a form of power-valve. Never ridden
one, though I have ridden a Yamaha RD500.
