I'd definitely be up for something like that!

I don't really think it could be done on the public road because of
the legality of changing riders and refuelling while moving.

The article shows how they re-fuelled while at walking pace, but I'm
not at all sure how they did the rider change - did one guy hop off,
walk along with the clutch in, then the next rider grabbed the
controls then hopped on? Or did the new rider jump on the pillion,
then the old rider got off? Or what?

why ask for details? It's easier simply to disbelieve it - I mean, for
a start, a Commando running for over 1000 miles without breaking down?
