Today was a state holiday (Pioneer Day is the 24th), so I took
advantage and rode to Wyoming.

Between Park City and Evanston WY there are is section of curves on I
80 that are marked 40 or 50mph. Most cars can easily negotiate them at
about 70mph, the signs are for the semi-trucks.

Anyway I was following an SUV in the left lane going about 70mph, we
were overtaking a Goldwing Trike pulling a trailer. Just as the SUV
was nearing the apex of a right hand turn the Trike went wide into the
left lane. It could have been a bad scene if the SUV had actually been
along side the trike.

Anyway, trikes pulling trailers (or not) should really go slow in the
curves.

I rode back via Mirror Lake Highway. I managed to ride over 40miles
without a car in front or behind me! Pretty amazing considering it is
long weekend and Mirror Lake is a very popular camping destination.

190 miles, 10,700 foot max elevation, only saw one deer. On the way
down I passed a vintage WWII jeep pulling a vintage Army trailer, even
had vintage tires. Pretty cool rig.

The bike didn't start to torture me until the last 30 miles. A lot of
that was due to leaving the cool mountains and heading down into the
oven known as Salt Lake. A mighty fine day of riding. I didn't have
worry about parking my motorcycle.

But it's a DRY heat ! Yesterday when I left Mountain View Ar. it was in
the mid-90's and humid . When I hit Memphis 3.5 hours later , it was high
90's and 85%+ humidity . The second quart of Gatorade took almost 4 minutes
to suck down ...
I soaked my shirt (heavy twill long sleeve , for UV protection mainly) at
a rest stop , it was bone dry in less than 20 miles .

I got soaked at a stop while I had a drink and smoke and 20 miles later I
was bone dry and it was still raining.

I must ride considerably quicker than you :-)
