From: don (Calgary) on 2 Mar 2010 21:48 I don't need another bike. I really don't want another bike. But then I check the online adverts and look at the pictures and next thing you know I need a bigger friggin shed. http://calgary.kijiji.ca/c-cars-vehicles-motorcycles-street-cruisers-choppers-1981-Honda-CB-W0QQAdIdZ189065406# If it's still available this weekend I am in trouble.

I still look all the time and that's one I would happily pass on. My 1981 CB900C is about the only bike I ever owned that I have no desire to own another example of. Maybe the 750cc version of the engine was better, I am sure it wouldn't be any more powerful. My 900 was surprisingly uninspiring, so much so that I was astounded at how torquey the SV650 was in comparison, which quickly led to the purchase of same and the sale of the 900.

It does look well taken care of, although I prefer looking at bikes that are not that meticulously detailed. Easier to find the flaws that way.

It's kinda like going in the way back machine for me. I used to own a Custom, although mine was an 82, so I am familiar with the bike. I wouldn't be buying it for performance reasons, although I recall the 750 as having decent acceleration. I have often though of picking up another 750. I would also be interested in a 150 or 305 Dream. Same reason, I used to own one. I'll talk myself out of this. Maybe I need to go to a meeting or something. It is a nice specimen though. |
