We'd mutter a bit, kick a few stones around, stuff a few more fifties
into our wallets and get on with paying the fines.

One thing about the Froggies, if the French Gubbermint does something
the Frog populace doesn't like, the *best* that happens is Paris comes
to a standstill. The worst is the Parisians come home to a nice warming
real fire.

Superrb.

And since when did the Frogs decide filtering was a bad thing? They've
always filtered. Has it been illegal all along?

And reading the follow up article it's unclear what they were protesting
about...

"Having said that, another reason why 40,000 bikers invaded the French
roads and public transport in quite a few cities and towns last Saturday
is because they remain opposed to bikes being obliged to go through a
safety and mechanical test on an annual basis (such as the UK MOT test),
again like cars do"

Which seems to be an enviable position to be in. Wish I didn't have to
worry about MOTs for my 'fleet'...

Not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised. It is in Switzerland.
