I guess these are just minor annoyances unless they occur when you are
trying to get out of the way of a red light runner or whatever. Then they
could be the topic of conversation at our wake. "Why didn't he just get out
of the way? Surely he saw it coming." Oh well just gotta get used to the
shift method that gets it into gear every time. It gives the bike character.

I just figure the bike is expressing it's inner Shovelness. Kinda like that
small oil spot under the enclosed drive chain boots.

Reminds me every time I take the '02 in for service they tell me there's a
leak at the inner primary and do I want to have them fix it. I tell them my
other bike is a shovel and the twinkie hasn't leaked as much oil in years as
the shovel can leak in a day so no I don't want it fixed until it's a
problem. I park in the same spot at work and home so I know how much it's
leaking and it ain't much at all.

Thanks Harold. You're not the first to suggest that possibility. I'll take a
close look.

If you tackle it yourself it may be that it will look something like
mine did.

Not too tough if you have a torch and cheater bar to get the
compensating nut loose.
