Was gunna turbo my VF1000R in 1985, but got distracted by a race engine from Malcolm Campbells superbike that went instead (Google his name you pommy bastards). Then when I was getting bored with a souped up Hayabusa in 2002 (bloody thing was only getting 138kW at the rear wheel) I was going to turbo that. Then a divorce intervened. Unless they are set up well, and I don't just mean the motor, a turbo bike would be quite a handful.

The factory turbos were not the handul that most backstreet conversions were. The GPz is acknowledged as the best of the bunch, an it's no handful at all - just huge torque [1], right in the mid-range[2]. Mine's over 20 years old now, but I still love riding it. [1] About the same as a 1340 Harley [2] Peak torque is at 6500 revs -- Champ We declare that the splendor of the world has been enriched by a new beauty: the beauty of speed.
