Ah right. I thought someone here had told me I could do it with the ordinary
bars before (it might even have been you!) but I couldn't remember what I
needed to do. I can drill holes :). Thanks Andy.

That's as bad as the pair of Swift trousers I paid 70 for 4 years ago.
Perhaps I got the better bargain.

Nice to know. Shame I can't find the receipt.

I baulk at some of the HG prices for this very reason. No matter how good it
appears to be I know I'm going to destroy a thing inside a couple of years
or the waterproofing is going to let go. The last thing I bought was the
top of range HG goretex trousers similar to yours for well over 200squids.
A good set of leathers and 60squids worth of lightweight pvc oversuit works
fine and is always totally dry.

Millets is your friend if you want something even lighter than HG's seam
welded pvc. The Peter Storm kit works perfectly well but if you are far too
vain to wear that then the excellent Berghaus RG1 is 50-60, again avoiding
the 100+ goretex equivalent on the basis it will get lost, ripped or
destroyed.

I don't like the ones on the Tiger. It just feels weird with the
warmth creeping through your gloves from the inside. It's like your
hands are peeing themselves IYSWIM.

I prefer a pair of decent winter gloves inside my bar muffs.
