A policeman on another bike forum has mentioned that he successfully
prosecuted a group of riders for 'excess speed' based on their average
speed. This backed up by video evidence from his marked car that was
following the group. It seems they could have been done for 'racinng'
(?).

MCN causing a stir by using some facts arranged to look like another
fact?

I was stopped on the M74 doing 128 with another cage in tow. We had been
observed for a mile and had passed each other once. They did indeed do us
for racing on the highway, as well as dangerous.

It isn't what you do at all. It's whatever they want to fit you up for.

A mile at 128mph takes about 28 sec - and you'd passed _each other_ once
in that time?
